PARISH COUNCIL: Members to the Parish Council are:
July 2004 New Council Members:
Mary Griess, Jill Korta and Ron Schlautman.
They will join Joan Campbell, Mary Cuddy, John Hyland, Bernie Kouma, Brad Schmidt, and Dennis Tegtmeier.

The new members of the council were introduced and assigned their commission responsibilities as follows: Ron Schlautman and Jill Korta Liturgy; Mary Griess Parish & Family Life.
Sarah Kappel has accepted the position of Godparent Coordinator,
Preliminary financial statements were discussed. The final statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2004 will be completed and published later this month. The 2004 2005 budget is being finalized.
The Shrine for the unborn was discussed; the time frame for completion is this October. The Knights of Columbus are funding the Shrine which will be located on the east side of the Cathedral.
The gym floor is nearly completed.
MAY 4, 2004
David Schmidt reported on the condition and long range care of the organ. He distributed a hand out detailing the repairs that are needed with the priority being the reed pipe refurbishing.
Updated church and school financial reports will be distributed and discussed at the next meeting.
Discussion was held on looking at improving the condition of the school lawn and to enhance the landscaping.
Candidates for the upcoming parish council elections were submitted.
The current leaders of the Godparent program, Todd and Patricia Korensky and Mark and Mary Cuddy, are stepping down. Steph Bonne will be the new leader.
February 3, 2004
This is the final year of Disciples in Mission. There are about 400 parishioners participating, which is down from previous years. The Bishop will conclude the program with a Mass on Pentecost Sunday.
It was reported that contributions were close to last year for the same period with 30 fewer parishioners donating. Crossing the Threshold pledges arent coming in as expected. The Chancery will be contacted to determine how the pledges were scheduled to be paid.
The "Southern Nebraska Register" subscription payments are due. Discussion was held on the importance of parishioners paying the $12.00 fee. The parish is assessed $12.00 for each household, therefore the church is responsible for the difference. Members of the Finance Committee are: Mike Jenkins, Bernie Kouma, Larry Kunc, Paul Reinsch and Fr. Tucker.
Parish Goals: Spiritual Life - A SINE Retreat will possibly be scheduled after Easter. The SINE program will continue to have retreats on a regular basis. Physical Plant - We will be contracting with a company to replace/repair the door hinges and closers throughout the church at a cost of $8,000.00. Tuition - will remain the same but is subject to review.
Teachers salaries were still under review. Benefits were a topic of discussion.
It was suggested that a pictorial display of members of our parish that are serving in the military be exhibited in the vestibule.

Discussion was held on snow removal.
The Financial Report was presented and will be reviewed in-depth in the future.
The SINE board will review and discuss future Parish Retreats.
The Council will monitor expenses closely and assess whether any adjustments are required.
Repairs: The school has heating problems that need to be addressed. The concrete near the Rectory door needs repaired. The gym floor is scheduled to be replaced and will be paid for by the Home School Association.
