The mosaic on the north wall shows the Holy
Family: Joseph, Mary and Jesus. Mary is spinning and Joseph and Jesus are working on
a tree in the form of a cross to show what is to come. Beside Joseph is the Temple
of Jerusalem. Below the Holy Family are the tools of the carpenter's trade.
Above the Holy Family is the flight into Egypt when Joseph and Mary took the baby Jesus
into Egypt to save Him from the sword of Herod. In front of Joseph is a pyramid of
Egypt |

On the east wall is a Nebraska Farm family
planting a tree because Nebraska is the tree state. Beside the father is the
Nebraska State Capitol and beside the Capitol a buffalo of the plains. Below the
Nebraska Family are the grains of Nebraska. Above the Nebraska Family is a
pioneer family crossing the plains in a covered wagon. In front of the horses is an
Indian teepee (symbolizing the peoples from whom the white man stole the land). |

of the crucifixion: at the top the crown of thorns; in the center the cross and
imposed on the cross, the spear; beside the cross is the hyssop and the
sponge. At the base are the nails. Encircling the cross is the serpent, the
